There's been major disruption at Jersey airport this lunchtime after a plane burst its tyre on landing.

The Blue Islands Jet Stream had left Guernsey at eleven o'clock but suffered a blow out as it touched down just after quarter past eleven.

The aircraft was bought to a safe standstill and eight passengers were taken off on a blue islands bus without any injuries.

The plane was stranded on the runway for around an hour while the tyre was changed and has now been moved.

Its not known if it sustained any damage during the incident however Blue Islands say its likely a replacement aircraft will operate services between the islands for the rest of the day.

Seven commercial flights were put into a holding pattern over the island and departures were also delayed, though its believed things are now getting back to normal.
