Jet2 Start Service To Jersey

Politicians and airport chiefs joined forces today to welcome the newest airline to Jersey.

Jet2 have introduced their latest route, taking passengers to and from Leeds Bradford airport, three times week throughout the summer.

Ian Doubtfire from Jet2.com told Channel Online: "We very much listened to our passengers demands and Jersey has always been on the list of people were interested in and want to go back. There was a service long ago from Leeds to Jersey and so we started evaluating it last year and surveyed our passengers and there is a lot of interest in the Channel Islands so that was one of the reasons we started the service."

"Also there is very much a financial link between the two cities, Leeds is the third largest finanical city in the UK and of course Jersey with its offshore financial centre makes it a common link," he added.
