Default Avenue Delays To Last Around Ten Weeks

Jersey's busiest road will frequently be closed over the next ten weeks for maintenance. Work on Victoria Avenue starts on Tuesday.

The section between Bel Royal and Rue du Galet will be affected.

The road will be open for the morning and evening peak hour traffic. But there will be lane restrictions during the day and complete closure at night.

Drivers have been warned to allow extra time for journeys to the airport and to use St Peter's Valley as an alternative route whenever possible.

I pass this every morning and evening going to work and back, its just as well they stop at them times as the traffic is bad enough. It must be chaos during the day

Is this the pavement they are widening at Bel Royal?

The one which will now mean the Ambulances and Fire engines wont be able to zoom down the white hatched area in an emergency in peak traffic times?

Dont get in an accident in the West between 4.30pm and 6pm anytime soon.
