Default WEB Chairman Sacked

Jersey's States have sacked the chairman of the Waterfront Enterprise Board - Gerald Voisin.

But two States members who sit on the board, Senator Paul Routier and Deputy Jacquie Huet, have kept their job.

The move comes in the wake of the 'Esplanade development fiasco'.

Members supported Deputy Geoff Sourthern's motion to sack the chairman by 22 votes to 15. Two members abstained.

The motion to sack the States members was defeated by 29 votes to 8. Again two members abstained.

Mr Voisin had failed to declare his involvement with AIB Channel Islands. Their parent company in Dublin are the bankrollers of Harcourt Limited, the favoured developers of the Waterfront.

Its not alleged he's done anything illegal but members said there was a percieved conflict of interests and he had to go.

Yes,Voisin should have gone, but so should have Routier and Huet.
IMHO, Voisin is the fall guy.

They're just clearing the decks so they look like they've acted...

companies will then be invited to bid for the gig...and then Harcourt will get it again after being the best/only bidder??

I'd bet my left nutsicle on it!
