Just shows what sheep they are really, the majority clearly made an uninformed decision when voting in favour of Harcourt and their development plans.

It's hard to express just what a bad feeling I have about this.
I think it will go horribly wrong and will be an absolute distaster.
I'm geniunely afraid that it's going to finish off the island once and for all.
To meddle with things like this when there's nothing wrong with it as it is, at a time when there's no tax money spare and GST was the best they could do to keep the island afloat... it's the icing on a very rancid cake.

Nope, that's the old emergency exit sign. As in pretty soon everyone's going to start making a dash for it. I never thought it'd come to this, but I'm seriously looking at my options to leave...

One thing for certain. If I owned one of those flats / apartments that will overlook this building site for the next 'how ever many' years. I would be extremely p*ssed off.

Does anyone know what the plan is for the AquaSplash ? I guess they will close it as part of the "master-plan" - an oxymoron if ever I heard one !

I still don't know how they justify closing a public pool i.e. Fort Regent, in favour of one which is privately owned and then "we" have to subsidise it or it will close !

They should have spent the money on modernising Fort Regent and preserving an iconic building instead of letting it go to ruin.

Jersey's Waterfront Enterprise Board has began an investigation after it was revealed Harcourt Developers are facing law suits in America and Ireland.

WEB say no development agreement will be made until matters are resolved.

This week the States agreed WEB should lease what's known as the Esplanade Quarter of the Waterfront to Harcourt for 150 years so they can develop the area.

But WEB say they, and the Chief Minister, didn't know at that time of the debate that Harcourt are fighting a law suit in Las Vegas.

They say they were surprised and disappointed not to have been told and are now carrying out an investigation into the litigation.

Meanwhile, Harcourt say they are currently working on around 100 projects in 11 different countries and legal disputes are not uncommon in the building industry.

They say the disputes have no bearing on their plans for Jersey and they are 100% committed to developing a world-class Waterfront.

Harcourt were the developers for Liberation Station, the new apart-hotel and the new Jersey Tourism building - all of which is on the old abbatoir site.
