States Plans Rejected
Reform proposals which would have seen all States members in Jersey serving four-year terms and all elected on the same day have been rejected.
It's now back to the drawing board to produce an all-inclusive set of proposals.
Senior members, including Chief Minister Frank Walker, were critical of the piecemeal way in which reform has been developing.
Senator Wendy Kinnard has called for a review which would look at how a more inclusive form of government can be formed.
And Senator Stuart Syvret wants a framework of ground rules on elections - to include details like how much can be spent on campaigns.
