Im not sure where they pulled that one from, after some recent results. It may be the case that all the foreigners are adapting to the European game quicker than the English game. Another good result for British football.

Would like to formally invite all of you to the Old Firm thread tonight to celebrate Celtic's famous win over Goofydinho and the rest of mighty Barthelona!

Jimmy,

Liverpool played well and did deserve to win. Inter having a man sent off so early did not help their cause, there is still a lot of work to do in the return leg.

I go to Liverpool's games and was there the other night.
The atmosphere on these nights is electric and im sure spurs the players on an extra 10% as well as making the other team nervous.
To be honest I don't think Liverpool have been as bad as the papers have made out. The game against Barnsley was a freak result. Liverpool absolutely battered them but that's the FA Cup I guess.
The week before I thought they were slightly the better team against Chelsea and would probably have won had Torres been fit.
The spine of the team is top class ( Reina, Hyppia, Carragher, Gerrard, Mascherano, Torres ) even Agger who's injured and Alonso who's out the team are decent, but round the edges players need replacing. We have a couple of young players in Babel and Lucas who I think are going to be great in a couple of years and the reserves(who are one of the youngest teams in the reserve league) are 6 points clear and a few players are showing real promise.
I'd be gutted if Rafa left now because I think he's laid the grounds for a promising future. He's made mistakes but so have a lot of managers.
Liverpool will finish fourth I think this season and that's about right to be honest. Arsenal apart.....it's always going to be difficult to overhaul Chelsea and Man Utd with the resources they have.
A lot of fans from outside Liverpool don't realise this and think we have a god given right to win the league.
The only way we are going to do that is by being patient and letting the boss do things his way over a number of years.

Alex Ferguson in his first 6 years at Man Utd had an average league position of 9th.
I bet they are glad they didn't sack him !!
