Default Big Sam Leaves Newcastle

Newcastle are searching for their 8th manager in 11 years after Sam Allardyce's ill-fated reign came to a shock end.

He looked to have survived the worst of the pressure which came his way as Newcastle's season went from one crisis to another.

However, just four days after they avoided an FA Cup giant-killing act - if only just - at Stoke on Sunday, owner Mike Ashley and chairman Chris Mort decided the time was right to act.

so who's next for them?

Newcastle are clueless!!!!

While Big Sam may not be in the managerial elite he is still the best manager they have had i a while...

Why do Toon fans keep calling their club "Big"?

Having been in the UCL in the 90's and then freefalling since does not make you a top club!

They may be big in fan base but they have been mid-table mediocre for years....to be considered a "Big" club you need to win something and then keep winning....regularly!

And as for the owner Mike Ashley....yep, sit with the fans if you like....but don't let them shouting "you're not good enough" be the reason for throwing out your manager...

I agree managers should be given a couple of seasons to put things right. Allardyce didnt become a bad manager overnight, just think if Manchester United had done the same thing to Frergie when he first started.

Harry Redknapp according to the news is going for talks at Newcastle.

Is he going to do any better at NewCastle than he is at Portsmouth?
