Jim Breese > is one of the most exciting DJ talents currently emerging from the UK club scene. As resident Hed Kandi DJ he is well versed in peak time vocal-led, electro house, though beyond that there is a love of edgier house sets that combine deep electronic tones from labels such as Get Physical and Poker Flat. Jim mixed Hed Kandi's current 'Stereo Sushi' and 'Twisted Disco' digital download albums and has also co-compiled their renowned and eclectic Nu Cool, Serve Chilled and Beach House collections. Jim's 'Breese and Bad Hand' studio partnership have recently remixed club hit 'Lollipop' by Dada, released on Data Records.
2006 has seen appearances far and wide, including a grueling US tour, celebrity sunset parties in Dubai, the UK's huge Hi-Fi and Global Gathering festivals, World Cup fever in Germany, Ibiza's famous Privilege, El Divino and Pacha venues, Egypt, the Greek Islands, Sao Paulo in Brazil, all across Europe, both East and West, plus of course so many in the UK. Such variety necessitates a diverse music policy, a challenge he revels in and puts to good use at his myriad weekly residencies such as Match and Sosho in London (the latter recently winner of the prestigious Time Out 'Bar Of The Year' award).
For three years Jim was resident DJ at Café Mambo in Ibiza, acknowledged as the most important and influential clubbing-bar on earth. He would spin for eight hours each and every day, May until October, playing daytime sets, night time sets, and of course enjoying the endless quest to perfect the art of the Sunset mix, that Holy Grail of Ibiza DJing.
Mambo and the adjacent Café Del Mar are the focal point for the thousands who gather on Ibiza's 'Sunset Strip' each evening, determined to enjoy the communal spectacle as sun descends into the Mediterranean Sea. It's a magical, emotional moment, one that for three long summers was further enhanced by Jim's seamlessly chilled and dramatic musical soundtracks.
After sunset the club freaks emerge, joined at Mambo by virtually every international DJ of note - Jim played host each night to legends such as Sanchez, Emerson, Morillo, Tong and Morales - all of whom played weekly, then there were the countless guests! Naturally Jim learnt so much from sharing his booth.
In 2003 he played at MTV Aquasonic, Ibiza's largest open-air festival, plus debuted on BBC Radio 1 with a live 'Sunset guest mix' on Pete Tong's Essential Selection - the most popular and acclaimed dance music show on British radio.
The winter saw Jim busy with the Cafe Mambo World Tour, exporting his trademark sound extensively across South East Asia and Australia. One set in the Indonesian paradise of Bali led to Jim being offered the 2004 summer DJ residency at the magical KU DE TA beach club, as well as hosting his own Hero night at the Double Six super-club.
2005 saw Jim Breese further in demand across the globe, traveling to some of the best international club destinations - Ibiza, Moscow, Copenhagen, Bali... and the UK of course. To top off another successful year, he was handpicked to play for the hugely popular and world-acclaimed Hed Kandi brand, part of the Ministry of Sound empire.
Jim Breese has always been a DJ talent to watch, so now that he's fully 'arrived' look out for him at a dark, pulsing room near you soon!

I began to create a new sound of funky and vocal house which attracted promoters from one of the leading clubs in Liverpool, Garlands. It was there that I served my apprenticeship, building up a very respectable name for myself as a DJ. I also became resident at some leading nights in the North West such as Club 051, Sunrise, The World (Warrington), Club Zinc (Rhyl) and what was then my proudest moment, I was asked to play on the Miss Moneypenny's tour in 1998. In 2002 I became a resident DJ for Cream and was asked to go on tour with them for 4 months to Greece and Cyprus where I was a weekly resident at Cream Ayia Napa Cyprus, Falaraki Rhodes and also in Zante. In September 2004 I left Garlands after nearly 9 years and became resident at one of Liverpool’s most exciting clubs, Society. The club itself was magnificent and the crowd were fantastic. Whist being at society, I was given the chance to play with some of the worlds most respected producers, including Jose Nunez and Stonebridge. I had 2 fantastic years there but I felt it was time move on and was lucky enough to join Ministry of sound , where I played on various tours across the UK and that then gave me the chance to play for Hed Kandi at the end of 2006, for who ive been playing for since. . In the studio I made my first successful track, Jackin, in 2002. It was signed to Cornwall based label Play recordings. I was astounded by the reactions that it received; it was being played by many DJs including Sasha, Danny Tanaglia, Steve Lawler, Xpress 2 and Tom Stephan but received a glowing review by Lottie who played it on her radio 1 show and charted it at number 1 in her personal chart for Feb 2002. She also cited me as a new face to look out for live on radio 1. In March 2002 I was signed to Low Pressings with tracks called, Jungle Runner and Better Way. This was a great achievement for me as I had been a fan of that label for years. The track was a hit with all top DJs and got to number 7 in the cool cuts countdown. In 2003, Myself and Rob Jay of 3 Beat Records formed MIRABEAU and immediately undertook 2 remixes for Rainstar and Chakra , before setting out on our first debut single entitled brass disc which was snapped up by Seamus Haji for Big Love records and supported by many leading dj's including being featured in Pete Tong’s hottraxx section, where he reviews the 3 biggest tracks of the week in club land . Our next single, Back from outta space was again played by Tong, which led to Italy’s hottest label Oxyd, jumping at the chance to sign it. It became number 1 in the Buzz chart , 3 in the hype chart ,and number 6 in the Coolcuts , this is one the top 5 Ibiza anthems in 2004 . It has now had an amazing 6 plays and the award of Pete tongs essential new tune on radio 1. The track then in August 2004 was signed to All Around The World, who instantly licensed the track for compilations including Hed Kandi and Clubland 6. Back From Outer Space is due for release early 2005. Meanwhile we have a new offshoot project named Hydroponix, with a track due entitled Don’t Stop, Go. It has been signed to Sander kleinenberg’s label, Little Mountain Records, and is already creating a buzz among the worlds top dj’s. Its debut play on radio, was on Sasha & digweed’s Essential mix broadcast from Renaissance on radio 1. It then made its second play on the Essential mix live from Creamfields by the legendary Deep Dish. 2005 came to an end with two tracks signed to Forensic, Houston Calling and Inner Love, which had plays from Sasha and Steve Lawler to name but a few. Hed Kandi licensed our latest funky venture called Ghetto Funk for there latest compilation, Disco Heaven.
