DYNAMITE MC
The magnetic brilliance of front man Dynamite MC began developing with his childhood
influences spanning early Motown, and reggae. Later drawn to fledgling hip hop and house
clubs, by the time rave and drum & bass broke he was already deeply absorbed by the scene.

Initially harbouring ambitions to be a DJ, Dynamite discovered he couldn't afford early a set
of turntables and opted for the next best thing. A natural on the mic, he was already a
jobbing MC when he met Roni and Krust in a club in '93. Impressed by the way in which
Dynamite captured the attention of the crowd, Size asked him to accompany some early DJ
sets spreading the Full Cycle word and Dynamite rapidly became a regular with the Full Cycle
DJs on their nocturnal turntable exploits. Immediately convincing as a front man, he slipped
into the mix like a third turntable, hyping the crowds and elevating the already unique sonic
experience with his lyrics and rhymes.

During his early years as an MC, Dynamite would meticulously plan his lyrics, often penning
and practising them before hand, whilst these days he places more emphasis on freestyle
performance which allows him to maintain the characteristic fluidity of his sets.

Though Dynamite only featured on the opening track of 1997's 'New Forms' album, 'Railing',
he became an integral part of the Reprazent live experience, perfecting a dynamic live juxtaposition with singer Onallee. Having developed his style considerably, he headed the first 2 singles from Reprazent's second album In the Mode 'Who Told You' and 'Dirty Beats' as well as album tracks like 'Switchblade' and 'Snapshot'. He also guested on the Kamanchi track 'Hey DJ' for Die''s mix lp 'Through the Eyes'.

With the success of Reprazent, Dynamite MC was signed to Talkin Loud as a solo artist in his own right, and started recording his debut album 'The World of Dynamite'. When Talkin Loud was closed down by Universal, Dynamite took the decision to finish the album and release it himself, forming his own label Strong Records for that very purpose. Whilst licensing the single 'Ride' to East-West, he released the album in the summer of 2004 on Strong Records.

Working with the cream of D'n'B producers Roni Size, Andy C and Marky, Dynamite was keen to bring out all his influences and spread out across the spectrum of UK dance and urban music. Key tracks include the hip-hop productions of Stone and Skitz, the breaks sounds of Wookie and Zinc plus his own killer hip-hop production on the track Visions. Featured vocalists on the album include fellow MC Skibadee and Jamaica's man of the moment, dancehall MC Elephant Man.

2005 saw Dynamite MC guest on a number of other artists releases including The Nextmen, Skitz and Zinc and continue his high profile touring and in 2006, Dynamite MC has expanded his skills to include radio presenting with a new show on London’s Kiss 100FM, Monday nights 9-11pm. He has also been announced as the new presenter of the ILR Urban Chart Show, Fresh 40, set to launch shortly on Sunday afternoons around the UK. At the same time he continues to tour and has just released his first mix CD, ‘Big Man Talk’, which contains 20 killer tunes featuring his unique style in a hip-hop vibe. Pointing to his future recorded direction, ‘Big Man Talk’ showcases one of the most talented rapper/MC’s in the UK and is a pointer towards what to expect from his next full length album.

CTRL-Z

Ctrl Z are a Nu Skool Breakz production duo hailing from London. Tom Petais and Nicky D'Silva aka Dash and Inch met through the Community Music Program in London. The pairing up of these two DJs by their tutor was to be the start of something special and their first Ctrl Z Production was unleashed. Snapped up by DJ Mutiny's Funkatech Recordings, Disko' and 'Pain made up the debut single that was to cause a big splash in the Breaks Scene. Straight to number 1 in the Mixmag Chart and straight into the boxes of the Breakbeat elite this dancefloor bomb paved the way for the duo.

Now with 20 releases and remixes under their belts on respected labels such as 777, Hardcore beats and Rat Records, it is no surprise that after only a year in business, Ctrl Z had the honor of receiving two nominations for Best Breakthrough Act and Best Breakthrough Producer at the 2005 Breakspoll Awards. Dash & Inch are receiving praise and support from some of the biggest players in the scene: Freq Nasty commissioned no less than Three Ctrl-Z tracks for his latest compilation CD, while the Freestylers requested not only a Ctrl Z remix on their album, but a collaboration with themselves too!

The list also includes collaborations with Breakbeat Stalwarts Tayo and the Autobots. Their DJ sets have to be seen to be believed, headlining Events all over the UK and Europe, Ctrl Z have crossed the Atlantic for three successful tours of the States and are rapidly spreading their unmistakable sound even further. As well as regular gigs, Ctrl Z can be heard smashing up the airwaves on the Double Award Winning station Pyroradio.com

BREAKFASTAZ

No breakbeat team are ranked higher as the future of the scene. They're relentless, explosive and there extremely talented lads. Froe, Gav and Merf make up the nu-skool breaks collective known as The Breakfastaz. Since they smashed their way on to the scene with their unique sound, it's safe to say that their productions have set a new standard in breakbeat production. Fusing chunky raw basslines with clever melodies and keeping the sound deep and dirty is their speciality. Be prepared for one of the best DJ collective acts around!

With over 20 successful releases and remixes on respected breaks labels such as Passenger, Mob and Against The Grain in little over 3 years, their offerings have received support and heavy rotation from scene stalwarts such as Plump DJs, The Freestylers, Tayo, Ali B, Meat Katie, Aquasky, Krafty Kuts, Deekline and even catching the ear of Zane Lowe, highlighting the enormous impact they've had on the scene in such a short period of time. They have just set up their own label The Breakfast Club with the debut release out now - double A-side 'Sickness' and 'The Cheech' followed by an album in early 2008.

To back up their releases, the guys DJ all over the world and have also been invited to do guest shows and interviews on BBC Radio 1 (Annie Mac Mini-Mix & Annie Nightingale), Xfm (Eddie Temple-Morris) and Kiss 100 (Tayo), accompanying their weekly show on Pyrotechnic Radio (Fridays 3-5PM GMT - www.pyrotechnicradio.com). Their hard work has already been recognised, with the guys being featured on the front cover of iDJ's 'Players Of The Year 2004' and also winning Best Breakthrough Act at the Breakspoll World Breakbeat Awards 2005, as well as being nominated for the Best DJ, Best Remix and Best Compilation in 2006.

'…there is no hotter act right now in the Breakbeat scene and considering how good everyone's become lately, that really is saying something.' DJ Mag

'With pinpoint dance-floor targeting and rough 'n' tough production, The Breakfastaz have quickly become breakbeat hot property…' Knowledge

'Although it's been a good year for breaks generally, there's been little in the way of shit-hot new talent coming through. There has, however, been one new name on the breaks circuit that will forever be connected with 2004; The Breakfastaz.' iDJ
