SAMMY JO started DJing 7 years ago at the legendary NYC nightclub, MOTHER, which set the tone for his pastiche approach to DJing playing classic disco, 60’s pop and cheesy ballads infused with sense of humour and reverence. It was through this that SAMMY JO was soon recruited to play at the original cyberfetish party "CLICK+ DRAG", where he met and collaborated with JAKE SHEARS of the soon-to-be-formed SCISSOR SISTERS.


Neighbours and like-minded artists, the two of them shared passion for a variety of music and as the THE SCISSOR SISTERS demos started pouring out of the studio SAMMY JO would test them out on NY clubbers. With his definitive style he soon raised his profile and established residencies in numerous high profile nightspots while THE SCISSOR SISTERS were declaring their position in the UK pop world with their unapologetic appreciation of all genres of music, past and present.

It was then inevitable when JAKE SHEARS asked SAMMY JO to accompany the band on the Crevice Canyon Tour in spring 2004 that it was the start of a beautiful friendship. Since then SAMMY JO has become the OFFICIAL SCISSOR SISTERS TOUR DJ and when he's not touring with THE SCISSOR SISTERS he maintains 4 weekly residencies in New York City’s edgiest nightclubs.
