Channel Islands Air Display 2008
Channel Islands Air Display
11th September 2008
Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands. Approximately 40 square miles in area and situated about 100 miles south of mainland Britain and about 14 miles from the coast of France.
A beautiful Island with a relaxed and friendly lifestyle, clear air, clean sea, spectacular scenery and golden beaches and of course an incredible FREE Air Display.
The Display itself takes place away from the confines of the airport in St. Aubin's Bay on the south coast of the Island.
The geography of the bay provides a fantastic natural amphitheatre for the display aircraft as well as offering spectators a wide variety of vantage points.
Over the past few years the Air Display has really made a name for itself within the Airshow Calendar with a wide variety of aircraft on show from many different countries.
Aircraft from Belgium, Ireland, France, Netherlands, Russia, United Kingdom and the United States have all featured in some way.
Organised by Jersey International Air Display A.R.L. on behalf of the Royal Air Force Association (Jersey) Branch as part of Battle of Britain Week. The aim of the Display is to help raise funds for Forces Charities. The Air Display itself remains free thanks to generous sponsorship from a number of sources.
