Look @ Me Week
Look @ Me Week! Islanders invited to take part
Jersey residents are being invited to take part in Look @ Me week.
With the aim to help raise the profile of the work undertaken by the Jersey Society for Deaf Children and Young Adults (JSDCYA), Look @ Me week will run from this Saturday 3rd May 2008.
Numerous events and activities have been programmed which will help raise the profile of the JSDCYA.
"There are between 4000 and 4500 hearing aids issued by the hospital and 40 of these users are children and young adults," explains JSDCYA Chairman Malcolm Perree. "The Society supports all types of hearing loss, from temporary loss such as glue ear, to permanent, mild hearing loss to profound hearing loss, and it is vital that we raise the awareness of the work we do in order to maintain the level of care and support we are currently able to provide. Look@Me Week is the perfect opportunity to help us with this goal."
The following activities will take place during Look@Me week:
Listening Bus – Saturday 3rd May
Adults and children are invited to visit the Listening Bus, which will be parked at Le Rocquier School between 1pm and 5pm. Parking is available at St Clement’s School. All are welcome.
