Not yet, particularly, but you never know what may change in the future so I don't see why I should make it any easier for any future b******s to know far too much about me!

actively choose to record all their friends and contacts and make it so accessible!
There are countries around the world
right now where, if you lived there, you'd want to play your cards close to your chest - so I'm not kidding myself that such a regime could never ever rise to power here in my lifetime. Consider how many things have come to pass in the last 20 years that we'd never have dreamt of back in 1988. It doesn't take much imagination, but a black president of the USA is the most obvious contender. Pick a current war and ask yourself if you saw it coming five years earlier?
What if global warming, fuel price rises, collapse of the economy, terrorism all conspire to make life absolutely massively different by, say, 2018? A starving unemployed population, collossal crime levels - all these things allow fascism to take hold, and then all bets are off.
You can't blindly assume things will stay roughly the same.
So, yeah, I trust no-one
