Default Rocketman

"ROCKET man Terry McDonald is threatening to sue the States over the £43,000 bill for his cancelled world record attempt.

Mr McDonald — who has spent the last ten and a half months sleeping in a secret location guarding the rockets — says that he is facing a bill he cannot possibly pay.

And because it was late advice from the Environment department that prompted him to pull the plug on his attempt to win back Jersey’s world record for a simultaneous rocket launch, he might have to take the States to court to get the money."

Isn't it a bit of a case of double standards, here? Either we allow fireworks or we don't. How can there be any justice in continuing to allow firework displays and staging them at public events, while this record attempt was stopped?

Make your mind up, Jersey - fireworks or not?

He should torch the lot and get a claim in before his insurance expires.

I couldn't agree more, the double standards suck. I wonder if his record breaking attempt would have got cancelled had the states been in to make a few bucks out of it. Is 5th November cancelled this year in Jersey?
