Personally, I think the wheel is good idea and maybe if WEB had pulled their fingers out there might be something to look at besides a building site.
It's "attractions" such as this that will draw people to the Waterfront. I also believe there should be a permenant skating rink, it doesn't have to be Ice, does anyone remember the Fort Regent Rink ? I spent most of my teenage Friday nights up there - ah good times !
There should also be some kind of amusement arcade, much like the old Funland, or even like this place;
Fantasy Island - Britain's First Themed Indoor Family Resort and Amusement Park It doesn't have to be on such a scale. Our kids used to love to go there and because it was almost entirely enclosed, it didn't matter if it rained.
It's great having all these so-called "low cost" airlines flying to Jersey, but what is there to do when average 2.4 person family gets here when it's lashing down with rain, which it seems to have done since last year !
Yes, I know the "old beans" think it would be lowering the tone of the Island making it into a tacky seaside town, but these places are mobbed during the holidays and at weekends.
IMHO
