Default Why has there never been any Jersey MP's, cabinet ministers or a Prime Minister?

This something that is bothering me, Jersey people are all British citizens so their would be no problem be an MP. The politicians who usually do the most for the nations they lead good or bad are people who are seen as outsiders or from the fringes. Hitler- Austrian, Napoleon-Corsica, Stalin-Georgia, Alexander the great-Macedonia, Eamon De Valera- USA. I know only De valera can be said of these 5 not to be evil, but they all made a mark. In 500 years time they will be remembered not Gordon Brown. If you are from Jersey you could do more good for Jersey in the house of commons not in the states of jersey.

There must be plenty of other people who are or were outsiders and have done great things leading their countries.

Most English people would consider Gordon Brown an outsider. In the last general election Conservatives won more votes than Labour in England. Yet, they lost due to no support in Scotland & Wales. If Scottish people want their own government, how can they determine the result for 50 million English people? To rub salt in the wound, they even supply the prime minister.

I don’t think it’s a case of the Scottish can determine the result for 50 million English people, i think you will find it was the 20 million English people that voted Labour was the cause for Labour winning.

Let's say all the 4.5m people in Scotland voted, that still leaves 5m from somewhere else. Would you not say the 5m as a majority would influence the vote more?

Just looked this up on google. The Scottish 2007 results.
Does't look like Scotland influenced anything.

Labour (31%), SNP (25.2%), Tory (21.6%), Lib Dem (12%).
