When the air pressure is obliging we do get FM radio direct from the mainland to the north, although you may need to park up at the cliffs to hear it best. BBC stations can be heard on other frequencies from transmitters such as North Hessary Tor, Caradon Hill, Rowridge, Redruth, Wrotham, Wenvoe, and also a number of independent stations. Top 40 hits from the last few decades and adverts tend to sound the same no matter where it comes from!
French FM
For a slightly different choice of music, we aren't that far from France as radiowaves are concerned, so we are blessed with an FM band full of French radio stations from their coastal transmitters on the parts of Brittany and Normandy that face us. Good lists for Cherbourg, Coutances, Granville, Rennes, St.Malo, Dinan, St.Brieuc, Brest etc can be found at
