The past few Sunday afternoon's i have taken some time out to check whats going on with the Propagation. Is it my setup or is it just dead at the moment? Is there anywhere i can check when is a good time?

It is a bit deadly quiet, yes, we just have to wait for the sun to perk up

I don't think there's much local chat except for a bunch of off-roaders (there's quite a few 4x4s with CB aerials), and there's a number of Polish registered vehicles sporting 'twigs' because it's quite popular over there at the moment. I don't know which set of channels they use though, you might need one of the more recent multi-standard rigs for that, where you select the relevant country code when you switch on.

As for working DX, you can get some results on FM with an EU/UK rig (interesting chatty DX), but most action takes place on SSB and you'll need to take chances with The Law if you want to join in. It depends how keen you are!

Legal DX? Visit the local ham club, pass a simple test an 8 year old can manage, get an official MJ6 callsign and away you go!
