I read in the JEP last week that local companies will not give money towards the battle, the ones that do get vip tickets etc. The goverments don't seem to want to give to much money to it either, even though it is one of the best tourist attractions we have.
I can see the end coming soon, the people that make these floats do it for the love of it, but when they are asked to fork money out of their own pockets for it, that's just one step to far. I have spoke to a couple of people who do this and they wont be doing it next year unless the States fund it more.
