"They say a repeat will depend on whether they can get appropriate underwriting from the Island's government."

What a surprise. They complained in Jersey about not being able to afford policing costs, stating that paying such costs would possibly kill the festival, so they threatened to take their show to Guernsey if made to pay...after which they magically discovered that although a few thousand pounds in policing costs would apparently destroy the festival, they suddenly had not only enough money to put on an entirely new festival in Guernsey but also a Jersey show....and now they've made a huge loss on that Guernsey show, so it's the turn of Guernsey's government to expect the festival organisers to be knocking on their door with a begging bowl.

By the way, with Guernsey Live the organisers claimed to have expected a loss of around £50,000. Apparently the £200,000 loss they took is still a manageable amount. Yet the expected £50,00 loss itself was just over twice as much as the policing costs they were being asked for Jersey Live.

When are people going to wise up to this pair of chancers? Let's hope the Guernsey government aren't as gullible as ours.
