The organisers of the first-ever Jersey Boat Show have been blessed with great weather which has seen thousands of visitors flocking to St Helier Harbour.

The event began with the sound of music from the Janvrin Academy of Arts, Drama and Dance choir.

And it was officially opened by the newly-crowned Miss St Helier Ceri Milner who hoisted the Jersey flag.

Later she was taken on a tour of the show by Jersey Harbours Chief Executive Howard Le Cornu.

There are many millions of pounds worth of craft on show, ranging from superyachts costing a million pounds or more to modest cruisers and yachts.

The show continues over the bank holiday period and there's plenty to do other than admire or perhaps buy a boat.
